Northleach Graveyard Search

Welcome to the Northleach Graveyard Search.

This is a search facility for records of individuals who are buried in the grounds of St. Peter & St. Paul, Northleach.  Initially our records will provide details from the old graveyard, but over time records from memorials inside the church and gravestones in the new cemetery will be added.

This is an important project as it  will benefit researchers whether they are interested in the town’s history or are searching for information about their families or ancestors. As well as information on the gravestone, for many records we’ve been able to capture additional information from the archives.

Our thanks to Northleach with Eastington Town Council for their help and permission to use their records for this project. Thanks to Enid Sly who was the inspiration behind the project to record the gravestones, to Selina Ballancethe architect of the project along with the original team of volunteers who began recording the inscriptions of the gravestones in the churchyard during the summer of 1996; Michael Ballance, Clive Barnes, Ray Crosse, Lorna Green, Phillip Harris, Michal Morse, Julia Owen, Prudence Roberts, Peggy Sheppard, Enid Sly, Joyce Sly, Ellen Timmerman and Kate Quelch.

Many records have additional information from local archives, our thanks to Janet Woodger for providing this data.

More recently, Jamie Hancock and Julia Owen for digitising the records  and enabling this data to go live online as a part of the Northleach Church website.

If you appreciate this project and have found interesting information about your ancestors, we would be most grateful for a donation.
